Hakone Estate and Gardnes is a great place to take a breather from the hustle and bustle of every day life. For $12 per adult entry, you can take your time to walk through the property, read about the history, and take beautiful photos for your social media. The drive up to the property can be steep and narrow so be aware as you make your way up here. There's plenty of parking spots around and free. You can buy your admission ticket at the gift shop across the way and they'll take cash or card. Overall, I'd highly suggest you make a trip over and soak in the beauty.

Small Japanese garden in the South Bay. Located in an affluent part of town. This garden is well maintained and you can always find something to photograph with the changing seasons throughout the year. The terrain is hilly and you can see the garden from different elevations to find the perfect shot. Worth stopping by once if you live in Silicon Valley and you don't feel like driving to San Francisco to see the more famous Japanese garden. The other J garden in the South Bay is located in Kelley Park in San Jose. Although that one is bigger, Hakone is definitely located in a safer neighborhood.

Hakone Gardens is beautiful! It was wonderful to see blooming cherry blossoms on our very first visit. Sakura trees line the main driveway...a few are in the garden. Features include a koi pond with moon bridge, waterfall, Moon Viewing House, other areas to stroll through, and a cute gift shop. Wear comfortable shoes and enjoy!

Held an event here and was totally impressed with the staff support! Melia was responsive, thoughtful, anticipatory and generous with her time despite juggling a fully booked event calendar. Everything went smoothly despite being in the midst of a level 4 storm. Sadly our ability to book a future retreat will be limited by their availability--they are very popular for good reason!
